Top tips for an epic
Wedding dance floor & Party

Transform your Cotswold evening wedding reception from ok to epic. Here's how:

Dance floor & Party | 2nd August 2023

First, choose the right DJ or band. The entertainment you select will set the tone for the entire evening, so it's crucial to choose an experienced performer who knows how to read the crowd and create a fun atmosphere. Make sure to discuss your song preferences, and any special requests you may have, with your entertainment vendor in advance.

People will follow you

Second, invest in lighting. Lighting can create the perfect ambiance for your reception. You can use uplighting around the perimeter of the room to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Also, consider adding dance floor lighting, such as spotlights or disco balls, to add an extra touch of excitement to your dance floor. Many bands & DJ's come equipped with lighting etc so double check what their set up is.

Third, encourage your guests to dance. You can do this by playing a variety of music, including popular songs from different eras and genres, to appeal to a diverse crowd. And when I say 'people will follow you' what I mean is that if you are having the time of your life on the dance floor, they will follow suit. If you leave the dance floor, slowly but surely guests will disperse too. If you are there to party, so are all your guests!

Finally, make sure the dance floor is comfortable and spacious. You don't want your guests to feel cramped or uncomfortable while they're dancing. Make sure there's enough space for everyone to move around, and provide comfortable seating areas for those who need to take a break. Consider adding a basket of flip flops so that everyone can comfortable dance the night away, plus make sure there is a bar nearby. A bit of dutch courage to get people dancing is always helpful in getting the party in full swing!

By following these tips, you can create an epic wedding dance floor and party that you and your guests will remember for years to come.
